What is SOPA and PIPA?On January 24 the us Congress will begin voting on two bills, safeguard IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the stop online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House. These bills would censor the web and impose harmful policies on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.

Law-abiding credible Internet companies like, AOL, EBay, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Mozilla, Twitter, Yahoo and Zynga would have to monitor everything users link to or submit or face the risk of time-consuming litigation. because The healthy mothers magazine is an interactive blog with several contributing writers and an online forum, I would have to either spend all day monitoring the links and articles posted to this site or shut the site down in purchase to avoid litigation.

Below is another terrific explanation as to why these bills are wrong, ought to be apposed and why they hurt online entrepreneurs like myself.

SOPA and PIPA will not end Internet piracy.

In fact these two bills would only make matters worse. The sites that commit piracy will continue under different URLs while law abiding companies will have to pay penalties for things that occur which are beyond their control.

Google has an online petition that I encourage you all to sign. We need to let congress know before these bills come for a vote that they are both wrong and will only hurt our economy and take away our freedoms. Please check out Google and sign the petition today.
